Vacation
Oh boy was the last week an experience. Took some time off of knife making as well as my day job to take a 2,500 mile road trip with the family. I have a couple god friends who live out in Colorado and have been after us to come visit for a long time. After my wife finished her cancer treatment last year we decided we need to experience more as a family. This was a hell of a way to start.
We started out by heading to the Omaha Zoo which was a good half way point to stop for the night as well as see a lot of cool animals. We’re big wild life lovers in this family and frequent a lot of different Zoos. The Omaha zoo is widely regarded as one of the best in the country and it did not disappoint.
After a few days in the mountains we started our drive home. We went north to see Mount Rushmore and then on to see Badlands National Park. Rushmore was cool but frankly could take it or leave it. Glad I went but don’t ever need to go again. The Badlands was something to see. Its amazing nature can make something like that. Also couldn’t believe the shear number of prairie dogs running around.
Okay now that that’s over I need to get back into the shop. Its been hard to find time with my Son being off. I’m so behind on so many projects. I really dont know how to find the balance between time with my family and trying to be a present and good Dad and my passions of being creative as well as productive. Maybe one day Ill figure it out.
